Story behind the name

We are often asked what Avaxa means. It is an amalgamation of Ava and Vaxa. Ava is the Latin name for grandmother. Most of Avaxa’s 5 partners are cousins, and linked through their grandmother Corrie Nieuwesteeg.
A remarkable lady who was, of course, married to a nursery stock exporter! Växa means to ‘grow’ in Sweden, an important destination of our produce.

The rising green lines in the logo represent growth but also symbolize the Scandinavian northern lights.
